CV:

I have studied Applied Physics at the University of Twente in Enschede. I have focused my studies on the field of Biomedical Engineering. To obtain my Master’s Degree I have completed a research on Quantification of fetal Heart Rate Variability by means of MagnetoCardioGraphy. I have achieved my Masters Degree in Applied Physics in august 2004.

I started as a PhD student at the Dept of Anesthesiology of the UMC St Radboud in january 2005. My PhD thesis will be on ‘Understanding central cortical mechanisms of pain chronification and chronic pain: fMRI studies in human subjects and patients’.

Currently I am doing a research into the difference in central pain mechanisms in ‘cold’ and ‘warm’ CRPS type I patients by means of functional MRI.
